Madhuri Dixit’s love affair with chandbalis

In the prime days of her career, Madhuri Dixit was known for her exceptional acting chops and mesmerising dance moves. Dancing to the tunes of Saroj Khan, she has ruled million hearts with some of the bewitching signature steps. From Ek do teen… of Tezaab to Mera piya ghar ayaa… of Yarana and Dola re…of Devdas, she has some of the best dance numbers to her credit. Even today at family functions and weddings, her songs and immortalised moves hot up the revelry. No wonder, she’s showered by monikers like dancing queen, Ek do teen girl…Dhak dhak girl, the list can go on.

A small break in her showbiz career post marriage was heart-breaking for her fans but soon she returned and how! Ever since she’s back after a hiatus, she has been looking drop-dead gorgeous. The highlights of her new inning is her styling. Every time she makes a public appearance, stars in a film or shows up on a TV show, her make-up, outfit and jewellery, everything becomes the talk of the town.

This time, the tinsel town is abuzz with the talks of her fascination for chandbalis. Bollywood diva Deepika Padukone may have revived the trend of chandbalis by donning them in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Ram-Leela. But in reality, it is Madhuri Dixit who has developed a penchant for this exquisite pair of earrings. Not just in her movies or televised dance shows, the brand ambassador of PN Gadgil Jewellers’ has been wearing them for special appearances too. Whether she’s dressed in a saree, a lehenga or a gown, her look is rounded up with a pair of chandbalis.

While judging the celebrity dance reality show Jhalak Dikhlaja back to back, Madhuri's style statement evolved season after season. She looked younger by the day. In this particular episode, a stunning pair of chandbalis did the trick for her understated look. 


Later when she starred in Dedh Ishquiya, her mujra sequence with chandbalis was another occasion we skipped a heartbeat. Her dance moves, her grace and then, her chandbalis, made us all go weak at the knees. How do you do it, Miss Dixit?  


Award shows too were not spared from her killer looks in her chandbalis. Teaming up with an anarkali dress, she pulled it off with élan.


Even when stepping out for a social cause, a well colour-coordinated pair of chandbalis were always by her side. We just can’t get enough of her!
